The 100th Fighter Squadron flies the F-16C/D Fighting Falcon. It is a unit of the Alabama Air National Guard. Its parent unit is the 187th Fighter Wing. Even though it has the same name and tail colors of the Tuskegee Airmen unit, it is not of the same heritage. That 100th Fighter Squadron is known as the 100th Flying Training Squadron. It was activated in 2007 in Alabama to replace the 160th Fighter Squadron so the state could honor the sacrifices of the Tuskegee Airmen.
