The 2005 Superbike World Championship season was the 18th F.I.M. Superbike World Championship season. The season started on February 26 at Losail, and finished on October 9 at Magny-Cours after 12 races. 2005 saw the return of the Japanese manufacturers with major teams from all four Japanese manufacturers ran through European importer’s teams.1
Troy Corser won his 2nd rider's championship giving Suzuki its first World Superbike manufacturer's championship.
