Abdul Hameed Dogar (born 22 March 1944) is the Chief Justice of Pakistan, a position he was elevated to when he took oath on the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO), following the controversial Proclamation of Emergency by President General Pervez Musharraf, on 3 November 2007. In this oath, he swore allegiance to President Musharraf's PCO orders, which suspended all human right provisions and the constitution of Pakistan.
Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar took a fresh oath on 15 December 2007, this time on the constitution. This was done following an order by General Musharraf, ending his PCO with his personal amendments to the constitution, allowing him to amend the constitution. Dogar's PCO Supreme Court judges as expected validated the amendments to the constitution, done by a single person, rather than the Parliament of Pakistan.
