Blaand is a fermented milk product made from whey. It is similar in alcohol content to wine.

History

Blaand was introduced to Scotland by Vikings.

It was a traditional Scottish drink for centuries, but it was not commercialized; production ended in the mid 20th century.

It has recently been revived and commercialized by Humphery Errington, under the "Fallachan" brand.

Geography

The same drink (under different names) is made in Norway, Sweden, Sardinia, and Russia.
