Calvert Memorial Hospital is a hospital located in Prince Frederick, Maryland. Calvert Memorial is currently the only hospital serving the Calvert County, Maryland area. There is, however, a shock trauma center located in Prince Georges County, and serious cases are usually air-lifted there.
Calvert Memorial Hospital was originally located along Main Street in Prince Frederick until the 1950s, when it moved to a single story facility on 100 Hospital Road. In 1978, the hospital moved to its current five story building adjacent to the old hospital building. The current facility has been expanded numerous times since opening its doors.
In addition to the central hospital located in Prince Frederick, the hospital also operates several outpatient medical clinics located in Solomons, Dunkirk and Chesapeake Beach.
