Henri-Géry Hers (born 1923) is a Belgian physiologist and biochemist, and he was a professor at the Universite Catholique de Louvain. Hers' disease is an inborn glycogen metabolism disorder caused by deficiency of hepatic phosphorylase, it is associated with an enlarged liver and mild hypoglycaemia [1]. In 1966, he was awarded the Francqui Prize on Biological and Medical Sciences, and in 1975 he was awarded the Gairdner Foundation International Award of the Gairdner Foundation.
