The Icelandic Wikipedia (Icelandic: Wikipedia á íslensku) is the Icelandic-language edition of Wikipedia. The Icelandic edition was started on December 5, 2003, and has over 22,000 articles as of May 2008, making it the 52nd largest Wikipedia.
The Icelandic Wikipedia tends to focus on improvement of existing articles rather than creation of stubs. As a result there are many articles on key topics still missing. As of September 2007, the Icelandic Wikipedia still does not have all vital articles (this is a list of vital articles which have still not been created). The Icelandic Wikipedia’s strongest subject area is philosophy.
There are 3,652 users and 21 administrators.
