The Kansas Air National Guard consists of two wings. The 184th Intelligence Wing is based at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas. It flies KC-135 Stratotankers. It used to fly B-1 Lancers before they were retired earlier in the decade. It was the first National Guard unit to fly a heavy bomber mission. It then had its KC-135 moved to its sister unit the 190th Air Refueling Wing. Working together with the 22nd Air Refueling Wing, it makes up the bulk of the refueling capabilities in the Central United States. [1]
