The Maine Air National Guard consists of the 101st Air Refueling Wing, which is based at Bangor IAP. This is the only remnant of Maine's former military might which once included 2 Air Force Bases and a number of fighter and bomber groups. The Maine ANG is part of the Maine National Guard.
