Musulmán/Mosalmán (Persian: مسلمان) is a synonym for Muslim. This term is modified from Arabic. It is the origin of the Spanish word musulmán, the Portuguese word muçulmano, and the Greek word μουσουλμάνος (all used for a Muslim).[1] In English it has become archaic in usage.
In addition to Spanish, Portuguese, Parsian, Arabic, and the Persian dialect of Dari, it is also found in Pashto, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Panjabi, Turkish, Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Azeri, Maltese, Hungarian, Czech, Polish, German, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Russian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Greek, Romanian, French, Italian and Dutch.
