Newport Harbor High School is a public high school in Newport Beach, in Orange County, California, in the United States. It is part of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. Its street address is 600 Irvine Avenue.

History
Newport Harbor High School opened on September 22, 1930.1 Since then it has grown to include more than 2,400 students. One of the most famous structures at Newport Harbor is the Belltower, constructed in 1930 (destroyed in 2007). In 2003, Robins-Loats Hall was closed due to seismic safety concerns. This building held the landmark bell tower, as well as housed the library, science department, theater, drama department, music department, food services, historical museum (Heritage Hall) and administration offices, the true heart of the school. The replacement building is scheduled to begin construction in summer 2007, after the demolition of the original building. The iconic Harbor Belltower was torn down at 8:28 AM on August 30th, 2007.2
Athletics
Newport Harbor High School has one of the most respected athletic programs in Orange County, with its water polo, volleyball, baseball and football teams frequently part of the county's elite. They currently compete in the Sunset League of the California Interscholastic Federation's Southern Section. NHHS teams are known as the Sailors, though fans also refer to them as the "Tars". The school colors are primarily blue and gray, and they use Tommy Tar, a representation of Popeye the Sailor Man, as their mascot. With newport and athletics the surf team there has not only been to newport annual 20 years in a row, but has succeeded a great amount of surfers and champions over the 78 years.
