Additional Information
The title refers to Avery Island, a salt dome island in southern Louisiana, the band's home state.
The UK version of this CD has two more tracks: "Everything Is" and "Snow Song Pt. 1," both of which are taken from the "Everything Is" single, reportedly without Jeff Mangum's permission1. On the vinyl, "Pree-Sisters Swallowing a Donkey's Eye" is 3:28 long. The UK version also has a different cover, with artwork by Jill Carnes of Thimble Circus. In recognition of the 10th anniversary of the album's release, a reissue on Fire Records was scheduled for the summer of 2006. Since the announcement of the reissue plan, the project has been plagued with delays; the latest estimate for a release date is early 2008. Later this year, however, they will be reissuing the album in Europe with the single tracks, now with the band's permission.
