Orion is a village in Henry County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,713 at the 2000 census. It is home of the Orion Chargers. It also has a KLJB 18 transmitter near the town.

Geography
Orion is located at (41.353260, -90.377229).[1]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²), all of it land.
Demographics
In the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,713 people, 695 households, and 492 families in the village. The population density was 1,989.1 people per square mile (769.1/km²). There were 715 housing units at an average density of 830.2/sq mi (321.0/km²). The racial makeup was 99.36% White, 0.12% Asian, 0.35% from other races, and 0.18% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.46% of the population.
There were 695 households of which 32.4% had children under 18 living with them, 63.6% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.2% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 3.01.
In the village the population was 25.9% under 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 or older. The median age was 40. For every 100 females there were 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.0 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $48,147, and the median income for a family was $55,370. Males had a median income of $40,250 versus $25,962 for females. The per capita income for the village was $21,043. About 1.6% of families and 3.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.7% of those under age 18 and 3.0% of those age 65 or over.
