i have acne scars , i don't have the money for all of those expensive painful remedies to reduce the scars .. does anyone know any home methods to help scars fade? jenn
This article currently is a complete mess of pharmaceutical products, medical procedures and rather obscure remedies to treat acne/acne scars. In this form it doesn't provide good factual information worthy of an encyclopedia and definitely should not be used as medical advice. I'm not generally against trying to use natural medicine/ayurvedic medicine against acne as a supportive measure. But a patient who already suffers from acne scars that might require surgical procedures or laser treatment (ablation, thermage, etc.) should definitely consult with a trained and certified MD (dermatologist) first, and use strong prescriptive medication to prevent further scarring.Norsktroll 21:43, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
my dermatologist advised against surgery, and instead prescribed retin-a. its suppose to rebuild collagen, therefore pushing the scars out to be even with the rest of the skin surface. just started using it, don't know if it'll work yet.

Mainly this article needs citations for these therapies, showing that they are used for treatment of acne scars and how effective they are. Kerowyn Leave a note 21:31, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
