Jargon to define or replace with more common terms

• distal esophagus
• symptomatic patients
• present with episodes
• bolus (so the reader doesn't have to find the proper term in the diambiguation page)
• proximal to the gastro-esophageal junction.
• leading to the belief that many Schatzki rings may be asymptomatic.
• ring of fibrous tissue on autopsy
• there is evidence that Schatzki rings do not progress
• rigid or balloon dilators (or create a dilator article and link to it, as the esophageal dilatation doesn't do a good job of defining the term)
• endoscopic management
• this is empiric

Distal is an english word not jargon. So is symptomatic. So is proximal. So is autopsy. I like the article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.130.246.2 (talk • contribs) .

Them being English words certainly does not prevent being jargon that can be difficult to understand for the non-medically educated. Circeus 11:10, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

GA Nom

Dropped by to review. I'd like to see the language of the article written so that an average layperson can understand it. I can, but that's because my wife has a Schatzki ring. I'd also like to see something more about how dialation is actually done and that the treatment, safe and effective, has to be often repeated over two or more times every few years. (although the last not needed for GA) I'll hold the article to let you all have a little more time with it. --CTSWyneken^(talk) 11:14, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
