Usually place this tag at the top of the article (below non-article content such as dab notices, but above infobox and lead section):

You can adjust the default "article or section" text with something more specific, such as:

{{Cleanup-spam|article}}
{{Cleanup-spam|article's "Controversy" section}}

You can also place this tag at the start of the concerned section and adjust its text accordingly, such as:

{{Cleanup-spam|section}}

This template will categorize tagged articles into Category:Wikipedia spam cleanup. See Special:Recentchangeslinked/Category:Wikipedia spam cleanup to see recent edits to tagged articles.
