DYKBot is now capable of doing the credits. The hidden comments in the credit section formatting have been updated to reflect this but more details are here if needed.

DYKadminbot is now running as it is completing a 14-day trial. Once the next update is completed, please copy the entire contents of this page to the next queue (shown below the time in the above template). If that page is already pending, copy this page to the next page in the bot queue instead. Then add {{DYKbotdo|~~~}} to the top of the queue page you copied the hooks to. After doing so, clear this page so that someone can begin working on a new update. See WP:DYKADMINBOT for more information. Thanks.

NOTE: Since on average about 50% of hooks on the suggestions page are U.S. related, it is usually appropriate to have roughly half the hooks in any given update on U.S. topics. Thanks.

Note that portal notifications are only done if you have taken the trouble to add the DYK hook to a relevant portal, which is entirely optional. The other notifications must be done before the "Next update" page can be reset.

• Don't forget to add an {{mprotected}} notice to the image description page (or {{C-uploaded}} plus a copy of the author attribution and the licence tag if you have uploaded a temporary copy from Commons).

After posting the new update

• Note: This is the old manual method. For updates copied to the bot queue, the bot currently automates all of the following except steps 3 and 5.

• After copying DYK entries to Template:Did you know, please do the following:

1. Purge the cache of the Main Page to make sure the new entries appear;
2. Reset the DYK time;
3. Delete the previous image (if c-uploaded from commons) or unprotect and remove the tag (if m-protected);
4. Copy the previous set of hooks (not the new set just promoted to the front page) to Wikipedia:Recent additions. Be sure to copy the final revision of the set (should be the last diff on the T:DYK page before your update).
5. If you have time, please do the credits for the hooks just promoted (see "Credits" section above).
