This template will add tagged articles to Category:Articles to be merged. This template combines the {{Merge-multiple}} and the {{Mergeto}} templates. It accepts 1-20 articles to be merged into a main article.

Contents

Usage and examples

{{Mergetomultiple-with |Article 1 |Article 2 |Article 3 |with=Main article |date=Month Year}}

Example

{{Mergetomultiple-with |Sun |Moon |Earth |with=Solar system |date=July 2007}}

The above code will result in the following output:

Tips
  1. Username (or other optional info which could be added to the main {{Merge}} template) is not possible for inclusion in this template since the template will consider the first twenty parameters as page names for merging.
  2. The template automatically links to the talk page of the main article, specified by the param with=.
  3. Generally, the problem is no discussion is started, so please begin the discussion with your rationale.
  4. Do not use square brackets to link articles; it is automatically done. The Talk link is always shown as pipetricked to (discuss).
  5. The date= parameter must be lowercase, not Date=.
    1. The date= value must be the proper full name of the month followed by a space and the four digits of the year.
    2. However using the substituted date={{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}} ensures the category links will be formated properly, and is compatible with date coded tagging on most maintenance templates. Typing date=July 2007 will quickly become second nature.
    3. If you leave the date parameter off, a BOT will generally add it in a day or two.
