Another item for box
Just stumbled across this box in 1989. Its beyond me, at the moment, in terms of programming language. So, I was wondering if someone could help me out by adding a wikilink for "X-year in LGBT rights" (i.e. 1989 in LGBT rights). Let me know. Thanks, ZueJay (talk) 02:18, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Redirect
I've redirected this template to Template:C20YearInTopic so that it is in line with other similar templates and uses the same format. In addition, this template appeared misaligned and generally ugly. Warofdreams talk 02:48, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- 03-Jan-2008: (4 months later) I see that the year-topic navbox was updated for new topics, but there were actually 600 prior year-articles using a similar condensed format, so I have returned the updated navbox into that condensed-navbox form, which also allows more right-side vertical space for images. An alternate format is used for years 2000-2008, where the format lists numerous other topics. The separation of "Subject" for Arts/Sciences is problematic, because Film is both an art and science (the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences), then there are distinctions between science and engineering fields, plus mathematics is considered both art/science: consequently, using the grouping as NPOV "Subject" avoids the separation of arts/sciences /humanities /business, where a reader might insist that "Law" is an art, and such. Grouping as "Subject" is safely vague enough to be an NPOV sorting of topics. Of course, the topic navbox for 2000-2008 (Template:C21YearInTopic) should also be improved, but there is so much other work, and those years after 1999 tend to become trendy battlegrounds. I've had enough trouble trying to stabilize the prior 700 years, as an encyclo- encompassing view of all suggested topics. -Wikid77 (talk) 04:02, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
