Triprolidine hydrochloride is an over-the-counter antihistamine. It is used to combat the symptoms associated with allergies and is sometimes combined with other cold medications designed to provide general relief for flu-like symptoms. Like many over-the-counter antihistamines, the most common side effect is drowsiness. A very fast acting drug that can clear congestion and stop runny noses in 15-30 minutes.

Note: in some countries (Belgium e.g.), ACTIFED contains pseudoephedrine and triprolidine, but the same pharmaceutical company (GSK) has introduced an "ACTIFED New" which contains dextromethorphan hydrobromide, an anti-tussive compound unrelated to pseudoephedrine and triprolidine, and with different indications (symptomatic treatment of non-productive, irritative cough).
Note: Actifed CC tablets no longer available for sale in Australia due to people buying large quantities to convert into illegal recreational drugs to the ease of extraction.
