The United States Ambassador to Sweden serves as the chief representative of the United States Foreign Service to the country of Sweden, and prior to 1905, also to Norway, which was politically aligned with Sweden. Since the 1930s, the ambassador is resident in the ambassadorial residence, Villa Åkerlund, of the United States Embassy in Diplomatstaden, Stockholm.
