Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.

Resources

At the moment the Washington University in St. Louis Film and Media Archive has a collection of interview transcripts that might useful as resources covering the civil rights movement in america until 1965. In the coming months, interviews covering the period from 1965-1985 will become available. The interviews were conducted in the 1980s. These might be useful in providing clearer personal perspectives, and accounts from both big names in particular civil rights struggles and smaller community perspectives from within the movement.
