William Robert Shepherd (June 12, 1871June 7, 1934) was an American cartographer and historian. Shepherd was born in Charleston, South California. He was a professor at Columbia University, where he specialized in American and Latin American history. Shepherd is best known for his Historical Atlas, published in several editions during the early twentieth century. He died in Berlin, Germany.
