The Winnetka is a suburb district in the San Fernando Valley region of the County of Los Angeles, California. It is part of the City of Los Angeles.

Winnetka is bordered by Canoga Park on the west, Woodland Hills on the south, Chatsworth to the north, and Reseda to the east. Major throughfares include Winnetka Avenue, Roscoe Boulevard, Sherman Way, Saticoy Avenue and Vanowen Street. Corbin Avenue is the East boundary, DeSoto Avenue is the West Boundary, Ventura Boulevard is the South Boundary, and Nordhoff Street is the North Boundary. The ZIP Code is 91306.

History

Named by Charles Weeks for his local poultry business that he named after another that he owned in Winnetka, Illinois.

Before World War II, this area was rural (as was Chatsworth).

The district of Winnetka was originally part of Canoga Park, but later it was separated into its own district of the city of Los Angeles. Since the Sexual Revolution, Winnetka has become a major hub of the pornography industry.
