X-Treme Sports is a now defunct Canadian English language category 2 digital cable specialty channel owned by Canwest Media Inc., a division of Canwest Global Communications. X-Treme Sports aired a variety of programming related to extreme sports, the lifestyle and other related programs.
Closure
In September 2008, Canwest announced the closure of X-Treme Sports set for October 9 of that year. Canwest cited growth potential, profitability and warranting investment for its reasons to discontinue the service.
