- This is a Chinese name; the family name is Yan (嚴).
Yan Yu (? - 196) was the younger brother of Yan Baihu. Yu was an envoy for peace when Baihu was attacked by Sun Ce. During negotiations he proposed the dividing of Jiang Dong but was killed by Sun Ce in a bout of fury. He was well known and respected as a fierce warrior.
