Yuet Wai Kan (簡悅威) (born 1936) was graduated with an M.B.B.S. from the Hong Kong University in 1958. He is a Hong Kong-born American physician best known for his work in sickle cell and thalassemia genetics and is currently professor at the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco. He was awarded the Albert Lasker Award for Clinical Medical Research in 2001 and Shaw Prize in Life Science and Medicine in 2004.
