Yuri Viktorovich Ushakov (Russian: Юрий Викторович Ушаков) (b. Moscow, 13 March 1947) is a Russian career diplomat. He is a graduate of MGIMO and has been Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States since January 1999.
He commented on the Beslan school massacre:
| “ | terrorists will never stop killing us if they are not stopped and eliminated with all the power and might of our nation and that of the civilized world. | ” |
He was released from his posting by the Russian president Dmitry Medvedev on 2 June 2008.1
