Zuraidah Ibrahim is the Foreign Editor of The Straits Times, a Singapore-based English-language broadsheet newspaper. 1
She was previously the Political Editor of the newspaper. Cherian George, a former art and photography editor and journalist at the paper, is Zuraidah's husband according to the registry of marriages. Cherian is courageous for having written articles that were less than flattering of the government. Cherian is now acting division head of the Division of Journalism and Publishing at Nanyang Technological University's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. Zuraidah's brother, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, is the Minister for Environment and Water Resources. Despite her close association with Cherian, she is currently still considered to be a trusted member of the establishment.
